Ashfield District Council

FMG developed a Built Facilities Strategy and Playing Pitch Strategy for the Council. This resulted in:

• an £18m new leisure centre opened in Kirkby in 2022 under a new leisure operating contract supported by FMG including £1.5m funding from Sport England. 
• Some facility rationalisation including closure of two smaller under-performing community facilities. 
• New Active Partnership with annual ring fenced funding as part of the contract is driving community participation well beyond the leisure facilities through effective partnerships with key stakeholders including public health and schools. 
• A new £1m investment in play zone at Selston High School also opening in 2025 funded by Football Foundation and Sport England. 
• Overall this has led to a revenue saving of £1m per annum.
