Managing sport and leisure provision today means balancing tight budgets, improving ageing facilities and dealing with rising community expectations while also meeting strategic outcomes around health, wellbeing and inclusion. Whether you’re responsible for a local leisure facility or a national organisation, clear, evidence-based support can help you make the right decisions.
That’s where FMG Consulting can help. We work alongside you to help shape sport and leisure services, ensuring they’re sustainable, well-run and meet the needs of the local community. We can help you develop and manage facilities that have real impact both now and long into the future.

A Proven Track Record
We’ve successfully delivered on sport and leisure projects throughout the UK and Ireland, helping clients improve facilities and outcomes for users whilst ensuring financial viability. Our work has supported local authorities, companies and the education sector in transforming services and rethinking their approach to provision.
Our strategies are grounded in evidence, aligned with national and local priorities and tailored to meet the real needs of your communities.

For example, we carried out an assessment of investment on behalf of West Lancashire Borough Council into two separate health clubs. Consultation played a big part in the project, enabling us to understand the unique needs of the two communities in which the clubs were located and design different interventions to improve service delivery for each one.
We collaborated with Rubicon Leisure during its transition out of local authority control, supporting the board and staff with new working practices, governance structures, board meetings, and reporting processes. Similarly, we worked with Flintshire Council, guiding its public mutual as it evolved into a LATCO under the new Agency Model.

Working In Partnership
We work closely with every client to ensure we create tailor-made solutions that match the brief and meet the needs of the community in question. Developing solid foundations and understanding what you’re trying to achieve is the first step in creating lasting sport and leisure strategies which deliver successful service outcomes.
Whether it’s a standalone study or a full-scale service implementation, we collaborate with your stakeholders across health, education and the community to achieve maximum engagement and long-term positive impact.
