FMG Consulting was appointed to co-produce the Active Glasgow Strategy a bold and inclusive plan to support the city’s ambition for a healthier, more active future for all Glaswegians. Rooted in Public Health Scotland’s Whole Systems-Based Framework, the strategy reflects Glasgow’s commitment to equity, wellbeing, and collective action.

The strategy provides a clear, co-owned roadmap for transforming physical activity in Glasgow. It sets a strong foundation for collaboration, inclusion, and long-term health improvement—positioning Glasgow as a national leader in active wellbeing.

- FMG, in collaboration with Progress Health Partnerships, supported partners across the Glasgow system to:
- Shape a city-wide strategic framework using systems-based thinking
- Facilitate co-production with communities, public and third-sector stakeholders
- Align the strategy with local needs, policy, and aspirations

**Vision**

“Glasgow is a city where everyone thrives and our communities flourish through the transformative benefits of inclusive physical activity and sport.”

**Strategic Priorities**

Eight interconnected priorities form the strategy’s foundation:

- Health and Social Care – Embedding activity into care systems
- Places of Learning – Whole-system approach across education
- Workplaces – Enabling more active working lives
- Communication and Engagement – Unified messaging to drive change
- Systems – Integrated, cross-sector action and shared resources
