The pilots included the smallest and the largest local authority grass pitch providers.  - The Football Foundation do not support grass pitch improvements on local authority sites, and with over 60% of all affiliated football played on these pitches, it's important for the Foundation to provide a solution to meet their targets. - Alongside the Council’s, our work was to identify the local authority owned and managed grass pitches and undertake assessments through the Grounds Management Association (GMA).  - Once we understood the quality of the pitches, our work was to identify solutions to improving grass pitch quality to good across the pilot. This included understanding the financial implications of a grass pitch maintenance fund or solution including HR and Equipment requirements. - The work identified the potential cost of increasing grass pitches to a ‘good’ quality on local authority sites and enabled the Foundation to make strategic funding decisions for the future. - Recent - Topics - Archive Recent Topics - [Case Studies (41)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/case-studies) - [Blog (13)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/blog) - [Strategy (4)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/strategy) - [Delivery (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/delivery) - [Training & development (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/training-development) Archive - [May 2026 (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2026/05) - [January 2026 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2026/01) - [December 2025 (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2025/12) - [November 2025 (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2025/11) - [October 2025 (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2025/10) - [August 2025 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2025/08) - [July 2025 (30)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2025/07) - [June 2025 (6)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2025/06) - [December 2024 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/12) - [November 2024 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/11) - [October 2024 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/10) - [September 2024 (2)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/09) - [July 2024 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/07) - [June 2024 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/06) - [May 2024 (1)](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/archive/2024/05) See all ### Subscribe by email Share this [Share on Twitter](https://twitter.com/share?url=https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation-grass-pitch-pilots&text=Football%20Foundation%20Grass%20Pitch%20Pilots) [Share on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation-grass-pitch-pilots&t=Football%20Foundation%20Grass%20Pitch%20Pilots) [Share on LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation-grass-pitch-pilots&t=Football%20Foundation%20Grass%20Pitch%20Pilots) Previous story [← Football Foundation Football Hubs - Specialist Areas](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation) Next story [Football Foundation Multi-Sport Priorities →](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation-multi-sport-priorities) ## You May Also Like These Related Stories [Supporting The Lionesses’ Legacy: How FMG Is Powering The Rise of Female Football Clubs](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/female-football-clubs) ![A victorious women's football team celebrates with a trophy and gold medals on the field, embodying the legacy of the Lionesses.](https://d37oebn0w9ir6a.cloudfront.net/account_54067/supporting-the-lionesses-legacy-how-fmg-is-powering-the-rise-of-female-football-clubs_265fcabe3cf234374fce0d829db62dba.jpg) [Blog](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/blog) ### Supporting The Lionesses’ Legacy: How FMG Is Powering The Rise of Female Football Clubs Nov 27, 2025 10:00:00 AM 2 min read [Football Foundation Multi-Sport Priorities](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation-multi-sport-priorities) ![Football Foundation Multi-Sport Priorities](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/hubfs/Images/Football-Foundation-Multi-Sport-Priorities.webp) [Case Studies](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/case-studies) ### Football Foundation Multi-Sport Priorities Jul 10, 2025 11:51:00 AM 1 min read [Football Foundation Football Hubs](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/football-foundation-football-hubs) ![Football Foundation Football Hubs](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/hubfs/Images/Football-Foundation-Banner.webp) [Case Studies](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/blog/tag/case-studies) ### Football Foundation Football Hubs Jul 10, 2025 10:26:23 AM 1 min read ### Get Email Notifications ### No Comments Yet Let us know what you think ![FMG Logo](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/hubfs/FMG%20Logo.svg) FMG Consulting Limited Bank House, Market Square Congleton, Cheshire CW12 1ET ![UK Flag](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/UK%20Flag.webp?width=40&height=20&name=UK%20Flag.webp) [0330 4000 481](tel:0330%204000%20481) ![Irish Flag](https://www.fmgconsulting.co.uk/hs-fs/hubfs/Irish%20Flag.webp?width=40&height=20&name=Irish%20Flag.webp) [01 912 0079](tel:%200330%204000%20481) [info@fmgconsulting.co.uk](mailto:info@fmgconsulting.co.uk) Registered in England & Wales.
